The Blessing of Abraham
Speaker: Stephen Bohr
- The Blessing of Abraham - Part 1
- The Blessing of Abraham - Part 2
This miniseries investigates the meaning behind the words in Galatians 3:13,14: "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith" (NKJV).
Pastor Bohr explains how Jesus' taking our curse on the cross opened up the way for the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples and the gospel promise given to Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3 would from there be spread to all nations. The series examines the puzzle as to why the law is called a curse in some texts but in other places it is called holy, just and good. It shows how Jesus took upon Himself the very curses first pronounced upon Adam and Eve after they sinned and how He suffered very close to the breaking point in taking our load of cursed sins upon Himself. It also explains why fire came down from heaven to consume certain sacrifices in the Old Testament and why the rock that Moses struck poured out water for Israel.
You will understand the importance of witnessing and spreading "the blessing of Abraham" through baptism into Abraham's Seed, Christ, so that we can soon fully exchange the tree of the cursings of sin and death for the Tree of Life in heaven. These beautiful messages will leave you understanding much better the inspiring meaning behind God's promise to Abraham that in his Seed all nations of earth would be blessed and all who reject Him would be cursed.
