The Refuge of Jacob
Do you ever fear the events predicted for the end times? No portions of Scripture have brought comfort, inspiration and strength to all kinds of people than do the Psalms.
Pastor Bohr examines Psalm 46, the triumphant Psalm we will sing when we are delivered from our final enemies, and from which Martin Luther derived his song "A Mighty Fortress". This sermon both prepares and encourages us to face the great "time of Jacob's trouble" ahead.
"Those who delay a preparation for the day of God cannot obtain it in the time of trouble or at any subsequent time. The case of all such is hopeless" (GC 620).
"The 'time of trouble, such as never was,' is soon to open upon us; and we shall need an experience which we do not now possess and which many are too indolent to obtain" (GC 622).
Learn how we can develop faith now; how to relax in Christ's righteousness and in His sanctuary refuge; and how we can gain calming strength and hope from Biblical stories of men who went through tests and trouble as examples of how we can make it through just as they did.
