Running On Empty
Noah invested everything he had in the ark. Everyone else was saving for a rainy day.
Pastor Bohr uses this easy to remember truth to remind us, as we see the economy bouncing every which way and banks and businesses failing, that our opportunity to invest all the time, talents and money that we can in God's ark, His church, is running on empty like a car that suddenly runs out of gas on the highway as we have been distracted by outside influences.
"The money that we refuse to invest in the work of the Lord will perish" (9T 131). Revelation 18 reveals what will happen when financial, political and religious systems collapse. Is our treasure spent where our hearts really are? "When the Lord sees His people restricting their imaginary wants...the work will go forward with power" (8T 53). A perfect companion to Systematic Benevolence.
