Homesick For Heaven
Let them make Me a sanctuary that I might dwell among them (Ex 25:8).
The purpose of the Israelite temple was to illustrate by the Shekinah Glory that Jesus was to come down and live among us, so that He would be invited to come live in our soul temples. When He lives there, the Holy Spirit will cleanse us and make us "fireproof" so we can go to heaven and live with Him.
Pastor Bohr tells the story of the three men who walked in the fiery furnace as examples of what God wants us to become in order to "dwell with everlasting burnings" (Isa.33:14). And he further encourages us with hope that God will dwell with us again on the New Earth in a city that will change its name.
Find out what that name change will be; how Jesus "dwells" in us; how our outward actions express who lives in us; and how to prepare to have that "holiness without which no one will see the Lord" (Heb.12:14).
